Stephanie Spears
Master Stylist
My passion for hair styling began in my childhood, as I spent countless hours in Aunt Robin’s salon, captivated by her work. She instilled in me a love for hair that I carry with me to this day, and I miss her dearly.
In 2004, I attended a community college cosmetology program that offered pivot point cutting and wella color training. I was eager to learn and attended various hair shows and classes during my time there. At one such event in New Orleans, an Aveda associate noticed my enthusiasm and introduced me to a salon in Atlanta. After a successful interview, I landed an assistant position with a celebrity stylist upon graduation.
Working alongside the talented Derrick J, I gained invaluable experience in ethnic hair styling, which remains a significant part of my skill set. The hard work and dedication I put into my time there has shaped me into the stylist I am today, and I am grateful to Mika and Derrick J for their guidance.
In 2008, I ventured to Las Vegas, where I spent a decade as an independent contractor working with casino entertainers. Seeking to expand my skills further, I enrolled in the TONI&GUY editorial cosmetology program in Los Angeles in 2018. During my 13 months there, I also had the privilege of assisting celebrity stylists in Hollywood, absorbing as much knowledge as possible.
Following my time at TONI&GUY, I worked in Hollywood until the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, at which point I relocated to Texas. I continue to serve clients in both Las Vegas and Hollywood, in addition to building a new clientele in Texas.
Cosmetology is more than just a profession for me; it’s a lifelong passion. I am deeply committed to my clients and the relationships I’ve built with them, as well as the countless individuals who have helped shape my career. Currently, I am honored to be a part of Kevin Charles Salon in Plano, Texas, where I strive for excellence and continued growth.
